We are now a Certified B-Corporation

Lewis & Scott recognised as an ethical business
We’re delighted to announce that Lewis & Scott has been officially recognised for our ethical business principles. Certified B Corporations, or ‘B Corps’, are companies that are externally vetted to ensure they meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. A rare accolade in the housing sector, Lewis & Scott joins brands such as The Body Shop, Innocent Drinks, The Guardian, Kickstarter and Abel & Cole in achieving this prestigious title.

CEO and founder of Lewis & Scott, Rob Scott explained why this certification is important: “The B Corp movement is a global initiative to change our economic system to positively impact workers, customers, communities and the planet, it fits with our purpose and proves our commitment to doing things the right way.”

As a B Corp, Lewis & Scott are held to a higher standard. Our entire business has been assessed
against a rigorous set of criteria, from our supply chain and carbon footprint, to inclusion policies
and community engagement. These principles and practices are built into the company’s legal governance and are re-certified every 3 years to stay in-line with evolving best practice in social and
environmental standards.

“We are really proud to have been formally recognised as an ethical business,” continued Rob. “Lewis & Scott was created to improve the health and wellbeing of local older people through beautiful, affordable, suitable homes, but we can’t expect everyone to accept that on face value. This certification is another step towards demonstrating our commitment to our purpose. People in later life need a long-term, attractive and affordable alternative to what’s currently available on the housing market.”
